Miscellaneous Problems XP Fault finding tests For fault finding purposes we have developed the following tests to pinpoint any problems with the ecobutton, USB system or Windows sleep mode: Unplug the ecobutton™ from its USB port. Then restart the computer Click Start > Run > and type cmd in the run command Window. |

|
Then type the following command into the command prompt window (you can copy and paste the following text) rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState |
![]() |
Then press enter, this should suspend the system immediately. If this was successful hit any key to wake the computer back up to resume to normal operation. If this fails in anyway then there is a problem with either your operating system or your hardware configuration. |
We can advise you on possible causes but as this is not a problem with the ecobutton we would be unable to assist you further. If this test was successful please proceed to the next test.

Then press enter, your Computer should go to sleep. When asleep press any key to resume to the savings screen, then press any key to continue. If this test succeeds, please reconnect the ecobutton and press it. If its still not working the problem is with the USB system/plug or cable and/or the ecobutton™ itself. Obviously if this succeeds, there is no problem! |
